'Tis the season to think up creative and thoughtful gifts for our loved ones! It's also the time of year to try new things, as your friends and family want to buy you something you'll love. So, I thought it would be fun to pull together a few ideas that I've seen lately, or personally use and enjoy!
Pancake Cupcake Batter Dispenser Tool
I recently saw this, and thought it could be a nice addition to my kitchen since I make Jim's Fluffy Pancakes almost every Saturday morning, as well as other yummy cupcakes like carrot cake muffins and lemon poppy seed muffins. It could make things a little cleaner and easier!
Cookie Press
For years now, when Christmas rolls around, I've used a cookie press to make special cookies from our November/December downloadable magazine. They are so yummy, and there is something satisfying about being able to use the cookie press to create a beautiful SCD cookie! (I will be sharing the recipe in my newsletter soon, so sign up here if you would like the recipe but aren't already on the list!)
Simple Squares
I was recently contacted by the owner of Simple Squares. She noticed that people following the SCD were buying Simple Squares, and graciously sent me some to try. They are delicious! They have a smooth sweet flavor, with a touch of herbs included too, making for a unique flavor and healthy bar. A box of these would be a definite treat! (She verified to me by email that the company uses organic raw ingredients with nothing added except what is on the ingredient list, and the vanilla extract does not contain sugar. All flavors except the Cho-Coco would be SCD-legal, and they use good manufacturing practices to clean the equipment between batches.)
Wellbee's Caramel Cream
This caramel cream is addicting! It reminds me of a See's Candy filling...can't go wrong with that! ;-) I get this as a treat around my birthday, and it is amazing. It can be used as a frosting, or eaten straight out of the jar - which I usually end up doing! It's also really yummy spread on some Wellbee's Melba Toast.
Wellbee's Ketchup
Having made ketchup before, I know that this is something I would rather buy. And Wellbee's does such a great job with the flavor! It is great to dip Cheese Lace in, use on taco meat, or even as a salad dressing. I like to bring some along to add to a plain hamburger patty and vegetables when I go out to eat. There's something about ketchup that adds so much!
I hope you got some new ideas here, and you have a wonderful Holiday season!!
